Just on the phone to someone and we came up with this term. S.N.A.G.W.A.S. As stutterers we tend to be over sensitive to other peoples feelings. The term S.N.A.G or Sensitive New Age Guy (Girl) seems to relate to us well. So how more fitting than to expand the term to S.N.A.G.W.A.S or Sensitive New Age Guy (Girl) with a Stutter.
The Monday after the course and I am naturally felling great. On the Saturday at the public speech’s Geoff (the RD of the Australian McGuire Program) gave me a challenge to ring up John Laws and talk on radio talk back to about 2 Million people. I happily accepted the challenge with a huge smile on my face. Well after being on hold for a while the call taker told me the queue is very long and it looks like they will not get around to me. She took my phone number and said they would ring me if they had time today. Talk about pressure. Now the phone could ring any second and I will be online to 2 million people !@#. Ah that puts a smile on my face too.
Honestly I don’t expect to be called back. So tomorrow it will have to be. I am in Melbourne and John Laws is on the radio in Sydney. He is also on talk back on other stations but I have not worked out at what times yet.
The Internet feed for 2UE is down so I can not listen to the station at the moment. 4BC in Brisbane is working with John Laws online now but I think there is some time delay going on because while on hold to 2UE the content was different to the 4BC Internet feed.
Keep on reading back. I will be telling some stories about the course as I have time for it in the next few days.
Well we have been flat out. started on on Wednesday night with 32 new students. The normally 1/2 and 1/2 mix of Overts and Coverts with 6 Females and the rest males. The range in age group is about 12 to 40 (just a guess). There is a lot of Instructors on this course so we have a nice change from time to time with them each taking there turn. Contacts are this after noon so I am very much looking forward to it. The hotel has great social area’s but tiny rooms without any decent view. the Brick wall from my dirty window is not too pretty Hope to post again soon. Hi to all the people down at the B call center who for some reason are reading this blog. And hi to M. I fell like James Bond talking in all this code ! Talk to you all soon.
Time to head of to the station to go into the city. Just doing a post to check postie is picking up new posts. I don’t trust Internet Cafes so I use a secondary email for posting to my blog. The email is only used for posting to the blog and nothing else.
I talked to Geoff last night on the phone and he asked me to become a coach. I was going to head to Sydney last September for the staff training for this but there was word there might be staff training in Melbourne before this course. Unfortunately it never transpired. So I am more than happy to take up the offer since it was my game plan all along.
I have my iPod all filled up with Audio Books and some Big Band music for my short train trip.
